The programme for this concert focuses on four composers whose anniversaries are celebrated this year – Gustav Holst (150^th anniversary of his birth); Anton Bruckner (200^th anniversary of his birth) ; Charles Villiers Stanford (100^th anniversary of his death), and Gabriel Faure (100^th anniversary of this death), who was organist at Eglise de Madeleine, and whose ‘Requiem’ was premiered at the Madeleine, with Faure conducting.
